Papton Chairs – Origami Cardboard Seating

Ever had a party or family get-together where, due to sheer numbers, the available seating – or, rather, apparent lack of it – has become a problem.

Whilst retrieving the deck chairs from the garden and acquisitioning your children’s chairs from upstairs may be a solution we’ve all put into practice at one time or another may be a solution the results are often less than satisfactory and, from an aesthetic perspective a complete nightmare.

Designed by Fuchs + Funke, a collaboration between Wilm Fuchs and Kai Funke, these cleverly designed chairs, known as Papton Chairs, could be the ‘designer’ solution as not only do they look cool they have been designed to be stored as a flat pack – minimising storage requirements - that can be folded into seating units at a moments notice.
