If you’re looking for a distinctively styled clock that’s novel but not excessively wacky then this Hour Glass Clock with a design based on traditional sand timers may be to your tastes.

Featuring two independent cones that rotate at differing speeds to show the hour (the lower come) and the minutes past the hour (the upper cone) the Hour Glass Clock, which comes with a robust metal top and base and is powered by a single AA battery, manages to be different whilst also proving intuitive to read.

The Hourglass Clock retails for around £25 ($50 / €35).
