Retro Icon Wrist Watch Pays Stylish Homage to 8-Bit Console Classics

Initially we were going to apologise profusely for cross posting this particular gem from our sister site TFTS but, on reflection, we’ve decided that, simply on the basis that this deliciously retro 8-bit inspired Icon Wrist Watch is just so damn cool, we really have nothing to apologise for - as far as retro watches go, this watch is a work of sheer nostalgia fueled genius.

Inspired by the blocky, 8-bit graphics of classic console games from back in the day such as Space Invaders, the original Mario and, of course, Donkey Kong (our retro gaming friends would slap our wrists were we to leave that one out), this Icon Wrist Watch once again serves to prove that pure, simple design devoid of flamboyance is all too frequently the most effective.

As far as functions are concerned this watch may well be wholly lacking but, in all honestly, had they have padded this watch out with a host of features few of us ultimately end up using we suggest that it would have only served to have diluted its impact. This is a retro watch that is not only supremely confident with its design but is also refreshingly happy merely to serve as a time piece.

And what a time piece it is.

The Retro Icon Wrist Watch retails for around $82 / £42 / €56 and we’ll be extremely interested to see how readers of EP rate it (we’re hoping for straight 10’s across the board but, ultimately, as always, it’s your call).
