Sometimes, especially after a particularly taxing day, there’s something enormously therapeutic about a spell of self-enforced isolation allowing you to both relax and engage in a little reflection and this futuristic Transport Pod from designed by Alberto Frias will certainly help you to achieve just that.
Available in two sizes – either six or eight feet in diameter – and handmade from composite fibre-glass, the Travel Pod (so called on account of its ability to transport you ‘elsewhere’) features a thermostat controlled water bed, an integrated LED ambient lighting system and Nucleus Micro speakers complimented by a sub-woofer offering iPod connectivity ensuring that you’re beautifully cocooned from the stresses and strains of your day – though, at $16000 each, the bill is enough to occasion a considerable migraine.

It’s pretty cool, but its blue and purple stylings and general look resemble a bong too much for me to really take it seriously.

Hi Sam,
That’s one thing that didn’t occur to us, I have to confess – and I suspect that would be seen as a bonus by a few.
