Saddle Up with Fernando Akasaka’s Designer Cowboy Junkie Saddle Stool

Some time ago we featured the novel Bicycle Saddle Stool here on EP and, never being ones to miss an opportunity to follow on a theme wherever possible (however left of center that theme may be) the moment we set our eyes upon this equally distinctive (some would argue, quirky) Cowboy Junkie Saddle Stool from Fernando Akasaka we just knew that we simply had to feature it here – not least because, lets face it, equestrian themed seating is, at best, somewhat unrepresented in the world of seating solutions.

Very much a chair designed to be ridden as opposed to being sat upon, the Cowboy Junkie Saddle Stool unfortunately doesn’t come complete with motorized castors (which would allow you to saddle up before riding from your lounge to your mini bar, for example – perhaps lassoing a couple of your kids on the way just for good measure and bonus points), comes with a soft leather saddle which is available in black, brown, oak bark and hazelnut colours and even comes complete with stainless steel stirrups.

Whimsical or deliciously novel, whichever your perspective there’s no doubt that the Cowboy Junkie Saddle Stool is a particularly original and especially distinctive seating solution that, on the face of it, is all to happy not to take itself too seriously – and there’s nothing wrong with that.
