Admittedly this may ‘just’ be at the conceptual stage, but this high tech musical scoring device known merely as ‘Compose’ by Ouyang Xi, He Binbin, Zeng Li and Li Bo certain strikes a chord with us (ah yes, that’ll be the weekly pun taken care of then).
Comprising of a digital pen with integrated microphone and a ‘digital paper tablet’ the Compose will automatically transcribe your vocal harmonies to the digital paper once docked allowing you to sing/hum along to your heart’s content just about anywhere you want whilst the pen records your tuneful or not so tuneful meandering (therefore allowing you to get the details down the instant inspiration strikes).
Apparently the Compose will also contain stored libraries for an entire orchestra allowing you to sit back and hear your composition once successfully noted though quite how all this comes together in practice (certainly from a technology perspective) remains wholly elusive. That said, assuming that this concept piece can be realised in actuality we don’t doubt that it would find a considerable market.

Hi Gilly,
It is an extremely desirable piece of kit, isn’t it. Not cheap, but what a conversation piece when you have guests around.
We want one too.
