Of late few watches have impressed us enough to make it onto EP – though, curiously, a few watches that haven’t impressed us at all have managed to sneak their way in (what is that?) – but then we set our tired eyes on this Cabestan Winch Tourbillon Vertical Watch and, it has to be said, a smile lit up our faces for the Cabestan Winch Tourbillon Vertical Watch is undoubtedly as breathtakingly beautiful as it is distinctive (and, for that matter, as it is expensive).

Originally conceived of by Vianney Halter and consequently realised by Jean-François Ruchonnet of the DMC Group, the hand assembled Cabestan Winch Tourbillon Vertical Watch consists of a 450 link chain and driven by a winch movement of nickel silver drums (specifically termed as a winch-driven chain fusee movement) and, all told, the watch boasts a staggering 1352 separate components.
The Cabestan Winch Tourbillon Vertical Watch is offered, one a highly limited basis, in a range of differing casings from platinum to titanium and, naturally, gold with set diamonds and is limited to just four watches per month, with each watch carrying a price tag of between $275,000 to $400,000 depending on your material preferences.
