Consonance have made quite a name for themselves in terms of delivering high-end CD player (specifically thanks to their over sampling technology) and, carrying on from their larger Droplet CDP5.0 CD player Consonance subsequently released the Droplet CDP3.1 – alternatively known as the ‘Mini Droplet’.
Designed to appeal to the most discerning of audiophiles, the Consonance Droplet CDP3.1, apart from boasting a particularly striking design, offers 24-bit oversampling combined with the ability to process signals up to 768KHz thanks to its AD1853 and SRC4193 digital/analog converters delivering RCA distortion levels of less than 0.003%. Impressive.
The Consonance Droplet CDP3.1, which measures in at a compact 14cm x 38cm x 43cm yet weighs in at a sturdy 20kg comes with a choice of finishes (dull red, cherry wood or multi-layer dark wood) and will set you back a mere €2,400 (approximately $3,341/£2,228 as at the time of writing).
